SELECTION CRITERIA

THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA GUIDE THE SELECTION OF INDIVIDUALS FOR NATIONAL HONOURS AND AWARDS IN THE TURKS AND CAICOS ISLANDS

A nominee must be a Turks and Caicos Islander, except where the Ordinance otherwise provides. Nominees must demonstrate excellence in their field of endeavour, along with a strong commitment to promoting goodwill across all sectors of society, including gender, age, ethnicity, status, and professional background. Consideration is also given to the level of difficulty and personal sacrifice associated with their service, as well as their contributions beyond their paid profession or official responsibilities.

In addition, the length of service in a particular field and other areas of contribution are taken into account, along with the nominee’s ability to inspire others and positively influence communities throughout the Turks and Caicos Islands.

For detailed information on how nominees are assessed and selected, please review the Selection Guidelines below.
